  • Position Description Attachment:
    Responsible for project execution, contract acceptance, customer satisfaction and financial return for one or several small to medium sized projects. Assist other Project Managers and or Project Directors with various aspects of larger scale and more complex projects.

    Reports to the Project Director or the Manager Project Execution. Serves as prime interface with customer and consortium partner(s) to resolve issues of mutual concern with guidance of the Project Director or Manager Project Execution. Works with the Project Sourcing Manager regarding purchase, order placement and pricing; with site managers regarding the construction; with the Project Engineer and discipline engineers regarding technical issues; with accounting regarding financial performance issues; and with the customer's project manager on negotiations, updates and problem solving.

    Major Responsibilities:
    - Organize, structure and manage or assist in managing a project team to meet the needs of the project and control project costs.
    - Ensure on-time delivery of quality information, material, workmanship, field service and product performance.
    - Review and manage the project schedule and approve changes, ensuring all contract parameters are being met.
    - Approve all purchase orders for contract materials, services and Quality Assurance and Control requirements.
    - Issue various periodic reports detailing financial and schedule status of project(s).
    - Serve as prime interface with customer and consortiums to resolve issues of mutual concern with guidance of other project managers.
    - Enhance financial return to ALSTOM through sound management.
    - Effect a timely contract completion with customer satisfaction.
    - Manage project risks to avoid paying large warranty repairs, significant backcharges, or L/Ds for performance or delay.
    - Take an active role with Sales to promote future business with Customer/ Consortiums.

    Education/Experience/Minimum Training Requirements:

    Education: B.S. degree (engineering preferred)

    Experience: Two to four years project execution experience. Seven years experience in steam generation or power plant business.
